The end is nearly in sight! After spending more than a year undertaking the complete refurbishment of The Old Vicarage proprietors Marilyn and Jonathan have reached the final phase: the heart of their home, the kitchen.

Alex Hughes of Underwood Bespoke English Furniture, who has designed several kitchens for James Martin of Saturday Kitchen fame, has designed a spectacular open-plan kitchen for the soon-to-open bed and breakfast. Due to be installed in a few weeks the kitchen will be traditional in style and feature a Lacanche range cooker which is currently being manufactured to Marilyn and Jonathan’s personal specification.

An environmentally friendly Stuv woodburning stove is being installed in a comfy ‘chill out’ area to ensure that guests can enjoy their complimentary tea and homemade biscuits on arrival in front of a roaring fire when the weather is colder.
